Glyph
Named after the Greek word for “carving,” Glyph embodies the engravings found on ancient temples and promotes co-creation through digital craftsmanship. This initiative involved over 700 local children aged 5-14 from Elefsina, who contributed their drawings and recycled materials. These drawings were digitized and engraved onto eight unique swinging benches, creating a dynamic playscape that can be reconfigured as needed. Made from 240 kg of recycled plastic in shades of wheat yellow, mint green, and water blue, these benches are lightweight, portable, and versatile, designed to enliven empty urban spaces. After serving the needs of the Elefsis 2023 European Capital of Culture, these pieces will eventually be gifted to the participating schools, celebrating community and sustainability.
