Second Nature

For this project, we started by collecting discarded fishing nets from the seafloor of Galaxidi and transforming them into digitally crafted seashells through desktop 3D printing. In collaboration with cinematographer Daphne Matziaraki, Second Nature captures the journey of these abandoned materials, highlighting the impact of marine pollution while giving waste a renewed purpose. By blending craftsmanship with digital fabrication, the project raises awareness of ocean waste and explores new ways to repurpose plastic into meaningful creations. Through this process, Second Nature demonstrates the potential of local, circular solutions in addressing environmental challenges.
